Angela Goetze was born in Hamburg and studied architecture at the University of Hamburg. She practiced as an architect for a number of years in both Germany and Hong Kong - working principally on large-scale commercial projects, including the new Hong Kong airport at Chek Lap Kok. She began to paint full time while living in Asia, and studied painting at the Kuala Lumpur College of Art and at the Kunstakademie in Zurich. Her work has been exhibited in Hong Kong, Hamburg, Chicago, Zurich and Los Angeles, and can be found in private collections around the world.

Today Angela makes her home in Vancouver, Canada.

Angela's training as an architect imbues her work with a fine and consistent sense of formal discipline and perspective, while her experimentation with different subjects, colours, light and texture results in images that are sometimes starkly representative and dignified, and at other times riotous and playful - but always fresh and immediately recognizable as her work.
