"Art is different things to different people. For me, a prime criteria has always been that people should like my paintings;
that they should be decorative, and that people should actually enjoy having them on their wall. This sounds simple, perhaps,
but I’m always surprised at how many people hang paintings on their walls for the wrong reasons and don’t really enjoy them.
I think the decorative is something very precious in an artwork. It should attract and satisfy you, like a good meal;
and it should do this time and time again."
